About the Workshop

  • In order to succeed:

Your goals must be specific, clear and distinct: i.e. SMART goals

Your goals must NOT be general statements that are open to misinterpretation

Your results are based on your performance AND your ability to manage the performance of others

Many first line managers feel they are under pressure from all sides. Firstly, they feel pressure from their own team members. Then they feel pressure coming from the more senior managers, and finally they often get pressure from customers.

In addition: your first line managers are not trained in the arts of leadership, management and motivation.

As a consequence, many first line managers are in need of some targeted training designed to help them in their role.

This special course has been written in order to help the first line managers feel more confident in their role, by teaching them the special communication, planning and leadership skills that they need.

On this comprehensive course you’ll cover the six major skills sets relating to first line management: The six key skills sets are these: Developing a Goal focused mentality; communicating with accurate language; planning ahead and the prevention of problems; managing difficult personalities; managing your own emotions; managing the emotions of the team and thus developing a positive team atmosphere.

If you really think that learning new skills and gaining more confidence in your role is important for your future, then you will really love this course and you need to enrol on it today.

The Training Method

  • The training method follows this general pattern - the training is very interactive and interesting:

The trainer gives a clear explanation of the point in question with specific examples.

Then, the delegates practice by doing an exercise with each other.

The delegates practice by doing exercise with the trainer.

All points are supported with full written notes to take away.

Delegates are asked to write down an associated action, for each point made.

(At the end of the day, we have about twenty such actions, from which the delegates choose six which are the most personally meaningful).

Note: we do not believe in placing people in any situation of embarrassment by demanding that they 'perform' in front of the whole group. So you can relax: come on this course and be at ease; ready to learn new skills!
